What this is

A frozen archive of user18081971.watmm.com, a 2014–2019 fan voting site for Aphex Twin's SoundCloud uploads (final vote logged 2019-04-23). Built and operated by Ryan Verner, xf / xfxf. The story behind the site, including the people who shaped the original design, lives in the lore.

Credits

I built and ran the original voting site. The 2015 front-end design was contributed by binaryfold4, who turned a rough Bootstrap prototype into the orange, mint, burgundy and Inconsolata interface this relaunch still borrows from.

Domain

The original site lived at http://user18081971.watmm.com. WATMM is offline and that subdomain is no longer recoverable. The canonical archive now lives at user18081971.com.

Privacy

Vote data is fully anonymised, every user_id was dropped at ETL time and never enters the published artefacts.

If you're mentioned on the notable-signups list in "Who showed up" and you don't wish to be there, I have made the judgement that being a closet Aphex fan isn't a thing, but I apologise; please contact me and I will remove the entry.

This site uses Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation. GA4 sets its own _ga* cookies. There are no other application cookies.
